Attack on Government Institutions:



Pakistan army headquarters:
In a deadly terrorist attack on Pakistan army headquarters (GHQ), four terrorists who launched the assault with sophisticated weapons were killed whereas six soldiers including two senior army officials were martyred. Later, some four to five terrorists also took some 10 to 15 security personnel hostage in a security office near check post No 2 near GHQ.
Military officials said the attackers were surrounded, and efforts were being made to recover the hostages safely as the operation continued till the filing of this report.

ELITE POLICE TRAINING CENTER
Within days of attacking the Pak Army HQ in Rawalpindi, terrorists struck again on in the eastern city of Lahore, Kohat and in Peshawar. Armed terrorists attacked three security establishments in Lahore early morning – Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) building, Elite Force Headquarters, Manawan Training Centre.
At least 20 people -- 16 security personnel and four civilians -- were killed in attacks on an office of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and two police training facilities in Lahore by three groups of terrorists between 9.15 am and 9.40 am local time, police said.
Ten of the attackers were gunned down by security forces or blew themselves up. Nearly 40 people were injured in all the attacks
MANAWAN POLICE TRAINING CENTER
10-15 armed terrorists, apparently in Police uniforms with assault rifles and backpacks, attacked the training camp located in Manawan in early hours of the day. There are approximately 700-800 recruits inside the camp and majority of them were in the ground performing the assembly. The terrorists threw hand grenades, followed by heavy firing and injuring scores of police recruits in the process. While police, rangers, SSG commandos and other law enforcement agencies have siege the training center and exchange of heavy fire is going on. Army choppers are also brought in.
